Keep it short, keep it simple
To find your site people need to be able to remember your address and type it into their browser easily. Aim to register the shortest name that your customers and visitors will associate with your website.
Try to avoid words which are hard to spell, and don’t overuse numbers and shortened versions of words as they can be more difficult to remember.

Registering the same domain name with a variety of extensions will help you protect your brand, particularly if you own a trademark for a certain name.
If possible register the .co.uk, .com, .eu and .net extensions. These are the most popular domain names, and by registering all of them you can help to prevent cyber squatters and loss of traffic through people visiting the wrong website.
Furthermore, registering multiple domain names with different extensions can dissuade potential competitors and help strengthen your search engine listings.
Consider Common Variants
If you have a domain name that can be easily pluralised or misspelled (e.g. we have registered “hartinternet.co.uk”), consider registering alternatives as well to stop traffic going elsewhere.
You may want to register related domain names based around:
