The prices show the cost of the minimum registration period available (e.g. a co.uk can only be registered for 2 years) and all short term price promotions have been removed to give a true reflection of the prices. At no stage have any web host’s prices been massaged or edited to make us look better. I’ll be honest, I’m surprised how compressively we have beaten the competition. I was expecting at least a couple of our domains to be undercut, but that isn’t the case. It is also worth pointing out our prices have been at these rates for years, these aren’t new price points for the purposes of this table.

It can be confusing for the end customer to receive emails with the registrar’s details but not the reseller who they had bought the domain through, so this is a great step forward for all domain name resellers and your customers.

If you would like Nominet to display your contact information in the domain WHOIS results and any emails that are sent to your domain customers then please enter your details in the form found here in your Reseller Control Centre https://customer.heartinternet.co.uk/manage/tag-prefs. Once you have completed the form all future registrations and transfers will automatically have your information stored with them.  Please note: The update is not instant and does take a few days to be processed and put live by Nominet.

Fortunately, things have changed dramatically. It seems that every second company on the internet is trying to sell domain names, space or provide web hosting. The bad aspect of this is that you find that a lot of these companies try to undercut each other and therefore offer a poor service. They will happily sell you a domain name and then that’s often the end of it. They’ll offer no additional services and provide you with no extra help.

At Heart Internet we are a welcome break from this unfortunate trend. We do sell domain names but unlike other companies we offer a huge range of features to go with this. We provide free web forwarding to another web address; this is useful if you have free web space with another provider or you want to forward to the same domain but with a different domain extension, for example a .com to a .co.uk. We provide unlimited email forwarding to any email address you choose. There really are too many features to list here but you can be certain that no domain name seller will come close to what we offer.

In the event this happens to you, or if you are a reseller, one of your customers, all is not lost! In the renewals section of the Heart Internet Customer Control Panel you can now renew domain names that have been set to cancel or have not been automatically renewed due to a failed payment.

The section is called “Cancelled Domain Names” and is at the bottom of the page. Cancelled domains will appear in here for 28 days, the customer can click for the domain to be moved back into the main renewals list where they can either renew it now or let it be auto renewed on the next try.

In the same way that the countries of the world change over time, so do domain extensions, with Yugoslav (.yu) domains being largely replaced with domain extensions for the newly created countries which were formed from the break-up of Yugoslavia such as .si for Slovenia and the upcoming .me extension for Montenegro. Then there are extensions which are just created as the need arises such as the .eu extension for the European Union which has been live for a few years. A complete list of the domain extensions currently approved by ICANN along with links to the various registry sites is available at:

Many domain registries have specific rules on who can register a certain domain and sometimes restrictions on what type of site it must be, or in the case of .mobi domains how the site should be visible to users and on what type of devices. Some registries issue domains rather than allow them to be registered at all such as .mil for US Military websites, and some will only allow the person who wishes to own the domain to register it directly with the registry. Others insist you are a resident of the country involved before you can register a domain with them. In essence, each domain registry is free to make up its own rules and regulations on what can be registered and who can register them.

As you can see that makes it very difficult, if not impossible, for us to be able to register some domain extensions, but that does not mean that we cannot host them. Providing customers can register the domain involved themselves and have it placed onto our nameservers, we can host any domain extension with the use of a domain reference on any paid-for hosting account and the nameservers to use are listed in our Support Database.
