Getting started

If you’re a Home Pro or Business Pro web hosting customer, you can add as many of these to your site as you like. Just log into your eXtend control panel and scroll down to the install of your choice to get it set up in seconds.

If you’re a reseller, you can enable them for your customers by choosing the web hosting package(s) you want to add the one-click installs to. Just click the Package ID number from the manage hosting packages screen. Check the ‘Synchronise accounts’ box, and then scroll down to the one-click installs you want to include and check the boxes next to them. At the bottom of the page, click ‘Edit package’ to save your changes. Your customers will now be able to add the software you chose as one-click installs to their sites.

Please be aware that you are responsible for maintaining and updating the software after installing it.

Other new one-clicks

We try! One other way to use them is to do some testing, play around with the software and then create some useful resources or tutorials (for visitors, search engines or both!).

Just a little cosmetic thing. I was wondering if the Piwik one-click install icon in Extend could be moved into the Web Stats & Logs section?

After all, that’s what it is.

Thanks for more one-click installs - very useful as ever.

Any chance of knowing when we could see a Joomla 1.7 one-click install?

Joomla 1.7 is coming soon :)

Thanks for the suggestion Jon, we’re in the process of reorganising all the icons so it will be better situated once that’s complete.

    hi

i am running a smf forum on a heartinternet resellers package and a noticeable difference can be added by caching

quote from the smf caching page

SMF supports caching through the use of accelerators. The currently supported accelerators include:

    APC

    eAccelerator

    Turck MMCache

    Memcached

Zend Platform/Performance Suite (Not Zend Optimizer)

Caching will only work on your server if you have PHP compiled with one of the above optimizers, or have memcache available.

SMF performs caching at a variety of levels. The higher the level of caching enabled the more CPU time will be spent retrieving cached information. If caching is available on your machine it is recommended that you try caching at level 1 first.

Turck MMCache has really good results for an open source package can an admin install something like this or does it require for heart to make this applicable

    results of turck mmcache http://turck-mmcache.sourceforge.net/index_old.html

    many thanks

    Hi Devo,

Thanks for your suggestion. SMF has caching and this is implemented in our one-click install; your cache can be cleared through the admin panel as you need. The Turck MMCache tests were run as a command on a local server that took 22.5 seconds to complete, and the majority of web pages (such as would be generated using SMF) take sub-second times to process to start with rather than 22.5 seconds. To users the difference between disk cached and memory cached in processing such a web page are not so noticeable, and we already have effective disk caching in place :)

    Thanks,

    Jenni
