New! 2 Stylish HostPay Templates Released

New! 2 Stylish HostPay Templates Released

Posted by Ben on February 24th, 2010

Fresh from the creative depths of our web design workshop has emerged a pair of brand new HostPay templates. These templates have taken on a different look from our previous releases as to give our customers a greater choice when selecting a style for their web hosting company.

Both templates have adapted characteristics of modern looking web 2.0 sites you may find online, this breaks away from the more traditional style of design web hosting companies have used over the years and gives you something that’s completely different, but still conveys the right message. Each templates homepage caters for a large promotional pitch at the top, this can be changed to anything you desire, we’ve also added a sprinkle of jQuery magic to one of the templates, to create a slideshow effect that dynamically rotates various messages. We’ve taken the time to include a couple of blank message templates which you can change accordingly using your favorite graphics package (Mines Fireworks!) or use it as a basis to create your own! As usual the templates are built with XHTML/CSS and are fully W3C standards compliant. :)

We hope you enjoy these new-look templates and would certainly love to hear what you think about them!

Best of the new ones so far for me!

    Great work.

I have accidentally deleted two comments that were left regarding this post. They had incorrectly been caught as spam by Akismet and I wasn’t concentrating when I went to set them as ‘not spam’ and hit the delete button. If you have left a comment and don’t see it here sorry about that!

Ideal, just what I needed to get started since I’m not trying for a ‘conventional’ hosting site… and the blank images are? I cannot find them in the blank-theme-images downloads for the template that includes the ‘jQuery magic’… infact, its the slides that need to be blank…. great work again though!

  4. Chris says:

Great work, especially since I’m not trying for a ‘conventional look’… however, I cannot see the blank images for the theme with the JQuery?

    Those comments were mine lol.
    I was saying:
    1. First of all thanks for the new templates, they look awesome, to be completely honest template 1 rocks, template 2 not so much, but then again they are suitable for all kinds of customers ;)

    2. Keep pushing for the WordPress/Joomla Templates to be released if possible, has HI had a meeting about this? Was hoping these templates were CRM based :)

    3. Is there a possibility to release the PSD format files with the templates? (logo is kinda hard to modify without having layered source images) – Thanks in advanced if you release these files.

    4. Just information for people that need to implement and modify these templates, the index page is also treated as Ruby on Rails which not many people know how to work with which is a shame, was hoping HI used or switched over to an easier system when it comes to hostpay (for the templates that is), the separate pages are then programmed in HTML, CSS which are easier to deal with –> my point being CRM is much easier for people to use hehe.

Dont take the above as complaints, by the contrary you guys are doing fantastic work ;)

Thanks for taking the time to re-write your comments, as soon as I clicked I knew what I’d done!

  7. Chris says:

The top theme is great, the second not so much, but it has its uses.

Just read Davids comment about WordPress intergration or basing the themes on WordPress. This would be an excellent advance for Hostpay, something with a better template would be awsome.

It would be good if HI could release some sort of Road Map of Projects coming for Hostpay, so we can all plan. Maybe a feature to add within our RCP or even on the web to entice new custom.

    Something to think about.

    Cheers

    Great templates….

    1) Now how about offering a service to help install and set it all up so it looks professional I am sure that people would pay.

    2) Joomla Templates great idea…just off topic what about 1 click joomla/virtuemart shopping cart. as it is on of the most used.

    Thanks

    Davide

Whilst I love these, especially the first one. They are a little on the difficult side to modify without the PSD, Especially the logo. Can Heart please start letting customers have access to the PSD for these templates? Or at the very least to a PSD containing the image logo.

  10. Gary M says:

Virtuemart and Joomla integration would get my vote. Keep it up “Team Heart”
I would love to see a forum for HI customers. Somewhere to share and get advice.

    Regards – Gary

am using the bottom of the 2 themes for my hostpay test site which i think is the better out of the 2 themes the only downside to it is the lack of scope for the logo 181×32 is not that big so u can do much but as most of the rest have said there r the best 1′s so far for hostpay

    keep up the good work

Just put the template up on my site did a few small mods however i feel a clear video guide on developing the templates and free installation and config by staff would be a great bonus.

  13. Ben says:

    Thanks for the comments

    @ Oliver
A video of editing a HostPay template is in the pipeline, where we take a user through setting up a new template in the control panel and also some basic CSS customisations & image replacement.

    @TartySmurf
It’s VERY easy indeed to change the size of the header if you look for #header in the stylesheeet and change height: 50px; to anything you want. You can then add padding or margin to the navigation/logo to align them more suitably within your newly resized bar.

    @Justin
We use FireWorks .png’s for our template imagery, the font is Arial Black if that helps.

  14. Michael says:

Is there a live preview anywhere?

  15. Matthew says:

    Michael

We don’t have a live preview but if you log in to your Heart Internet account you can see screen shots of all the templates here: https://customer.heartinternet.co.uk/manage/reseller-shop-templates.cgi

    Matt

  16. Davide says:

    hello again

If heart will not help with templates why not have a forum for us resellers where we can help each other?

  17. Matthew says:

    Davide

Thanks for the suggestion, peer to peer support is certainly become more popular however we have covered a lot of the common questions in our support area for HostPay

    Cheers

  18. Paul Smith says:

    Hi,

If I change the template that I am using now to one of these new ones, will it delete all the info I have on my pages at the moment so I will have to start from scratch?

    Many thanks

    Paul

  19. Ben says:

    Hi Paul,

    Thanks for your message.

Yes, if you change templates you will lose all the alterations you made on your existing layout.

You’d have to save the current templates to your computer an reapply the information to the new template you have chosen.

    Kind regards,
    Ben

  20. Ryan says:

I would also love to see some sort of integration between joomla and host pay.
Either through virtuemart or through a new component.
It would mean that there would be 1000′s of templates available and Heart wouldn’t need to spend time making their own so could focus on the support forum for hostpay users and everyone wins!

Please think about it seriously guys!

  21. Henry says:

Registering another vote for a Joomla & Virtuemart combo for hostpay :)

Good work guys, I love the work you’ve done so far on this!

    Hello

    re: live preview

i’ve read your comment regarding live preview and about screen shots of all the templates. However they are too small to be much use especially when you want to see the layout in more detail.
Also some users have less then perfect vision and hence the screen shots are not much help. The only option
is to install each template and have a look.

It would be better to have a demo site (which you already have) where there is an additional option to display a template from all the available ones and highlight any new ones. Maybe also give your templates names/codes to help identify them.

Also, at the moment hostpay cannot handle dedicated servers, so presumably this is likely to be dealt with at some point in the near future ?

Any chance the code in the stylesheets/templates could be laid out more neatly (coding standards?) ?
It would make reading/editing the code more easier !

    Regards

    Ahmed

    Thanks for the feedback.

Dedicated servers are fully set up on HostPay, you just need to activate it within your HostPay control panel and then create your product page and link it to your order page.

I’m not sure how cleaner we could make it, its all been built and laid out 100% following W3C standards and indented to make it easier to make changes.

    Matt

  25. Alice says:

    Hi
Is there any way you can make the template images easier to identify.
I am interested in the CLEAN templates, however I have looked through all the blank image folders and can not locate the images.

Could you also consider an option to alter the template before installing as it is a pain to install the template before editing. Or if there is one where can I access it.

    Thanks

  26. Damien says:

Another vote for a joomla template or integration.

    Would be fantastic for us
