We are always looking at new ways to make our reseller accounts as bespoke and white label as possible. As is the case with all other reseller web hosts, because of Nominet’s rules surrounding the registration of .uk domain names, we have had to register our reseller’s domain names through our Nominet tag; HEARTINTERNET, thus potentially exposing ourselves to reseller’s clients. Not any longer!
We have now added an additional Nominet tag to our control panel for our resellers to use called EXTEND. This allows all our resellers to register domain names or transfer domain names through a generic tag, helping maintain their brand’s integrity.
Buying new domain names on the new tag
If you are one of our resellers you will find you have a new page in the preferences section of your Reseller Control Centre where you can choose the default tag for new domain transactions; you can also select to move all your existing domains to the new tag.
Transferring in domain names on the new tag
The domain name transfer in page, found in the Heart Internet customer control panel has also been updated to accept transfers on either tag; EXTEND or if you prefer to keep it, HEARTINTERNET.

Excellent! This is a great addition to the reseller package.
If I select to “move all my existing UK domains to the new EXTEND tag” option in my control panel will there be anything else that I need to update (eg. DNS settings). Will there be any downtime if I change it over?

Good question but you don’t need to worry, you don’t need to make any DNS changes and there won’t be any downtime on your sites.
